The Inception Workshop for the E-MOVILIZA project took place on June 4, 2024, at Auditorium 1 of the National Polytechnic School of Ecuador. The event gathered key representatives from public entities forming the Steering Committee, alongside crucial stakeholders for the project’s implementation and scalability.
The event was inaugurated with introductions from EPN, PNUMA, UEMI, MTOP, and MAATE. These organizations set the tone for the discussions by highlighting the current state of electric mobility in Ecuador. Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in fruitful discussions on the primary opportunities and challenges faced in executing the project components.
Key challenges identified included a lack of regulation and infrastructure, emphasizing the need to align international standards with the local framework. The workshop also revealed significant interest from the private sector. Courier companies expressed enthusiasm to participate in the E-MOVILIZA pilot project within the logistics sector, while the financial sector offered technical expertise and assessments of the project’s economic viability. The academic sector expressed their support through research and studies, and the public sector committed to collaborating on the development of necessary legal frameworks.
The Inception Workshop marked a critical step forward for the E-MOVILIZA project, laying the groundwork for its successful implementation and future scalability across Ecuador.
